Waiting
List
Here at Garden State Tortoise both Spanish, French and Italian Testudo hermanni hermanni are bred.  Hatchlings are generally available during mid to late
summer depending on when the eggs were laid. Sometimes, eggs laid late in the year will yield hatchlings available for sale during fall or winter. On this site, as
well as Garden State Tortoise's Available page, the status of the animals producing as well as the offspring offered for sale will be updated whenever
necessary. Because of the high demand for this subspecies of Hermann's tortoise and its extreme rarity, I have created a waiting list for those seriously
interested in working with them. Unfortunately, Testudo hermanni hermanni produce small clutches of eggs, therefore, only a limited number of hatchlings will
be offered to interested parties. Several hatchlings are also kept back each season to eventually become future breeders in our project. Regardless of the high
number of breeding adults kept here, the number of offspring can still be surprisingly low. Please be patient and understanding if you miss out this season.
When hatchlings are available, the waiting list will be notified first and I will state what is available including what bloodlines they are from and if they are Spanish,
French or Italian. Then if any are left over, they will be offered to the general public. PLEASE research this species thoroughly and be sure you understand
their care and rarity. These tortoises are not for everyone and if you are simply looking for a pet or something you have no intention of breeding down the line, I
recommend looking into a more common tortoise species.

If you are serious about acquiring hatchlings,
please fill out the form below and I ask that you comment on why you are seeking this species, your intentions
with them and the number of animals you are looking for.

Absolutely
NO hatchlings will be sold to pet stores or wholesalers.

Thank you for your understanding.
